Safety
Scandinavian Operator Service AS complies with NORSOK standards R-003N, which specifies requirements on the safety of lifting equipment used in oil and gas industry operations, and R-005N, which covers land-based operations. Danish Energy Agency regulations are also complied with when working in the Danish sector of the North Sea. Such standards and regulations ensure that all operations are performed safely and efficiently.
Scandinavian Operator Service AS actively participates in OMHEC (Offshore Mechanical Handling Equipment Committee), which strives to improve the safety of offshore lifting operations and equipment.
Bridge View
The lift has just been preformed and the crane operator is about to lift the man-riding basket back onboard the vessel from the platform. The view is seen from the angle on the bridge that the DP officers normally sits in on the vessel that also have the crane.
Deck View
The lift is commencing and the crane operator lift the man-riding basket with 8 workers up to the platform 35 meters above sea level. There the sea is not rough but there is a little swell. Back onboard the vessel the lift can see somewhat OK, men at the end visibility even for the deck crew is equal to nothing.
Crane Operators View.
The third movie is seen with the crane operators’ eyes from the crane control room and exactly the same as the one you just saw in “deck view”. Right away you will notice the swell in the sea and the motion in the vessel and the motion of the crane which undoubted have consequences for the lifting of the man-riding basket and the 8 people on it. After Time: 55 seconds the crane operator loses sight of the man-riding basket for the first time and vision of the transfer baskert is gone for 11 seconds until Time: 66 seconds. The second time the crane operator loses sight, is at Time: 124 seconds until 130 seconds.
17 seconds out of 208 seconds the crane operator who literaly speaking are holding the 8 mens lifes in his hands , have no vision. That is 35,36% of the duration of the transfer.
